St. Stephen’s House of London is a long-term recovery home for men and women facing challenges with alcohol and drug addiction. Located in Northwest London, Ontario, it operates with no fixed recovery term, allowing residents to stay as long as needed. This non-government-funded organization provides a safe, family-oriented environment emphasizing responsibility, discipline, and adherence to house rules.
Residents participate in mandatory life skills, relapse prevention, and 12-step group sessions, which form the foundation of their recovery program. Established in 1983, the organization upholds the vision of its founder, Sister St. Patrick, offering compassionate, homelike care. St. Stephen’s House expanded its services in 2020 with the opening of a dedicated women’s residence, ensuring a wider reach.
Supported by community contributions, resident rent, and occasional inheritances, St. Stephen’s House adheres to the principles of Alcoholics Anonymous while helping residents build healthier lifestyles. With capacity for nine residents per home, the program integrates recovery and community reintegration, fostering long-term sobriety.
