Recovery Acres Calgary Society (RACS), established in 1973, is Calgary’s oldest substance use disorder treatment facility. Operating as a non-profit organization, RACS offers gender-specific, provincially funded addiction treatment programs, including residential treatment, residential recovery, and outpatient services. The men’s facility, known as “1835 House,” has assisted over 15,000 men in overcoming alcoholism and drug addiction. RACS provides a 42-day residential treatment program designed for individuals requiring temporary absence from stressful environments and total immersion in a recovery setting. The organization also offers extended stay options and outpatient day programs to accommodate various recovery needs. RACS is committed to inclusivity, welcoming individuals who self-identify as male or female, and working with non-binary or questioning individuals to determine the most suitable program. Clients have access to counseling and support 24/7, ensuring continuous assistance throughout their recovery journey. RACS’s comprehensive approach aims to minimize disruption and cost to individuals, families, employers, and the community, fostering a stable environment for personal growth and reintegration.
