The Withdrawal Management Program, part of Bluewater Health in Sarnia, Ontario, offers comprehensive services for individuals aged 16 and over who are experiencing substance use challenges. The program encompasses both community and residential services, providing a safe and supportive environment for withdrawal from substances. The residential facility is a 7-bed, non-medical, co-ed unit where clients typically stay for 3 to 5 days. Services include supportive counseling, treatment planning, psycho-educational groups, and connections to community resources. The program adopts a harm reduction approach and facilitates the initiation or re-initiation of Opioid Agonist Treatment. On-site support features a Nurse Practitioner and an Indigenous Substance Use Care Partner available on weekdays. Additionally, Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) and Narcotics Anonymous (NA) meetings are offered on-site.
